My mom and brother spent time in Atlanta getting all of the pieces together, updating the staining on a few items that had faded, and then packing them all for shipping. We are so thankful for all of their hard work! When the packages arrived on Friday, my mom was at our house (following one of her business trips in the area), and she took photos of the boxes once they arrived.
Saturday, we opened up the furniture boxes and began putting the items together. I still can't believe that my mom saved all of the instruction manuals from the '80's and that we had ALL, yes ALL the pieces! Mom took some photos of the p
rocess (below).
We had lots of fun putting the crib and changing table together. We were unfortunately serenaded by a terrible band playing at the nursing home a few blocks away for a pumpkin bash. The vocals were so horrific, we thought it was karaoke! Needless to say, we laughed a lot. It also put our minds at ease to have my mom helping. She remembered so much about putting the crib together about 29 years ago for me!
Here's some pictures of the finished products:
We also received the bassinet that my dad bought for me before I was born, and now we're using it for our little girl. We're planning to use it in our bedroom when our baby girl's really little. It will of course by decorated with pink ribbons!
You can also kind of see the chest to the right that coordinates with the chest and changing table (sorry it's covered with picture frames and clothes). It's the perfect size for baby clothes. My brother and mom re-stained it and it's absolutely gorgeous! We also received this family rocker we'll be using with our baby girl (pictures to come soon).
We also found this cute bird painting made by a local artist that coordinates with our baby bedding and sweet baby bird theme.
Needless to say, we are feeling MUCH more prepared for our little girl to be here soon! She's got a wonderful room full of meaningful items and lots of love!
We'll keep you updated as it continues to come together... Next step, hanging pictures, lining drawers, etc..
