This is a picture of our baby at 9 weeks and 1 day old. This was our dating ultrasound where they measured our baby to determine the due date of January 11, 2011 (yes, that's 1/11/11). The "pea" shaped object is our little one. He/She already has a big head like Eric. This ultrasound was done first thing in the morning, which was great for Eric's work schedule, but bad for Katie's bladder. They require you to have a FULL bladder during the procedure and Katie (poor thing) really needed to go. Then, of course, they were training a new ultrasound technician during our appointment. Apparently, Katie has some ninja ovaries because it took the new lady 20+ minutes to find them. We did however get to see the dopplar of the baby's heart beat which was REALLY incredible! It was a strong 170 beats per minute which is typical for this stage of development. We're hoping that all of our appointments just as well with, hopefully, more comfort for Katie.
